Qualcomm Founder  Irwin Jacobs with his wife Joan visits Technion and the Technion Computer Engineering Center (TCE). 

Vice President for External Relations and Resource Development , Professor Boaz Golany briefed the Jacobs family and praised them as true, long-term friends and  supporters of the Technion. Irwin Jacobs expressed particular interest in the evolving relationships between Technion and leading universities in China and in the Technion’s new venture with the University of Shantou .

Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Ariel Orda , and Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Professor Irad Yavneh told the guests about the activity of their faculties and increasing need for new faculty members.

Head of the Center of Computer Engineering , Professor Assaf Schuster told how TCE combines study and research in hardware and software, and the growing connection between them and industry, The center follows  innovative model for collaboration that allows Technion researchers to solve problems presented to them by the industry. she told the Qualcomm founder.

The Jacobs Technion Cornell Innovation Institute in New York City was recently honored by a visionary gift from the Jacobs family, and as such proudly bares the Jacobs name.
