The Technion Formula car won 1st prize worldwide for newcomers and came 19th out of 54 cars in the combustion category.

formulaStudents of the Technion Faculties of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering have joined forces to create the first ever Technion Formula Student team. The driving force behind the team is graduate student Ahmad Omari.

Co-sponsored by Grand Technion Energy Program (GTEP), the 25-member Technion team will compete in Milan in September 2013 against 50 international teams to design, build and test a single-seat racing car within budget.

For over 30 years,  The Society of Automotive Engineering, SAE, has been organizing events and contests for engineering students. The most prestigious competition of them all  is Formula Student. Over 250 student teams from around the world research, design and manufacture a genuine Formula car,

 

Technion Formula SAE takes students out of the classroom and into the fast lane to apply textbook theories, all the while earning academic credit in Prof. Reuven Katz’s “New Product Design” course as well as gaining real-world experience.
